Ulysses: Known locally as Odysseus, visited the Necremanteion site as described by Homer in his epic poem 'The Odyssey".

Vasileios : A worthy Greek name derived from 'King'.

Wines: There is more to Greek wine than the acquired taste of Retsina or Domestika.  Greek vineyards are now producing some very good wines that rival european and 'new world' counterparts.  Ask for recommendations at tavernas and Parga's wine shops.  Many tavernas now offer good red and white house wine served in carafes.

Xerovouni Mountain: Part of the ancient route taken by worshippers on their way to the Oracle of Zeus at Dodoni (on the outskirts of Ioannina).  Travellers from Southern Greece would endure the journey  from the Arta Gulf through the diffucult mountain ranges to reach the Louros River and finally remote Dodoni.

Your Travel Guide to Parga : Synthesis Travel!!

Zalongo : Where the women and children of Souli fled to when betrayed by the Turks, the women and children danced and then jumped from the cliff top rather than being caught and taken prisoner by the cruel Turkish forces.
