A beautiful small seaside village with a promenade at the waterfront, offering a good choice of tavernas with fresh fish and cafeterias. Several small and idyllic beaches are close by.
A small village located on top of the mountains from where you can enjoy a superb view of the surrounding area and off shore islands. Overwhelming sunset! The village has a market square surrounded by tavernas and cafeterias. The long sandy beaches of Karavostasi and Arilla are just below.
PARAMITHIA (35 km northwest)
Paramithia is the main village of the Souli area. Its picturesque alleyways, the Epirot mansion houses, the mediaeval castle and the Byzantine church makes it an interesting place to explore. Every Saturday morning there is a small market. In the beginning of October there is a weeklong outdoor bazaar.
AMOUDIA (25 km south)
A small seaside village situated at the mouth of Acheron river. Along the river there are several tavernas offering fresh fish daily. Amoudia has a nice sandy beach, ideal also for children. 15 km further south there are the peaceful long beaches of Loutsa and Vrachos with a few tavernas and beach bars.
PREVEZA (65 km south)
Preveza, the area´s capital, was founded in the 11th century. The narrow alleys, the neoclassical houses, the belfries (Agios Athanasios and Profitis Elias churches), the Venetian clock and the picturesque waterfront with its many tavernas, cafeterias and shops are worth a visit.
NIKOPOLIS (57 km south)
Nikopolis (“victory city”), 8 km north of Preveza, was founded by the Roman emperor Octavian Augustus to commemorate his victory over Antonius and Cleopatra in the battle of Action in 31 B.C. The city contained imposing buildings, e.g. theatre, odeon, baths, nymphaion, city wall, stadium, gymnasium and aqueduct. During the 4th century six basilicas were built. The Basilica of Bishop Doumetios is famous for its mosaic floors, which are considered among the best in the Mediterranean. Many ancient finds are exhibited at the museum inside the site.
KASSOPI (50 km south)
Kassopi is one of the best preserved ancient cities in Greece. It was the cultural centre of the Kassopaii, a Thesprotian tribe (around 400 B.C) with two theatres, Agora and Prytaneion. Findings even date back to the Bronze Age.
RODIA WETLANDS (70km south)
The Amvrakikos Gulf is the biggest ‘mosaic’ of wetlands in the whole of Greece and consists of
lagoons, reed beds, forests and marshes. A boat tour around the gulf introduces some of the ducks,
birds and Dalmatian pelicans that make the gulf their home.
ARTA (100 km southwest)
Interesting sights are the Byzantine churches out of the 13th century (e.g. Agios Vassilios, Agia Theodora, Panagia Parigoritissa) with superb frescoes and icons, the castle (13th century) and the famous bridge, which dates from Early Christian times. Latest additions and repair works were done in 1612.
LEFKAS (95 km south)
This beautiful island is directly connected to the mainland by a bridge. Worth a visit are Lefkas Town in the north, the romantic village of Agios Nikitas and the fantastic sandy beach of Porto Katsiki on the west coast, Vasiliki in the south and Nidri on the east coast. From Nidri you can take a boat trip around the famous“ Onassis Island” of Skorpios – still highly guarded and very exclusive.
IOANNINA (120km northeast)
The capital of Epirus, Ioannina is beautifully situated beside Lake Pamvotis. The city offers a great opportunity for shopping and sight seeing. Wander around the old Turkish quarter, visit museums or
take a boat over to the tiny island of Nissaki, a peaceful haven in the middle of the lake with its small
churches and monasteries.
ZAGORIA VILLAGES (170 km northwest)
The Zagoria villages, 46 traditional settlements, are situated . The region is one of the country´s richest in animal and plant life (Vikos National Park). The architecture is very distinctive with the houses having been built exclusively out of the local grey stone. In Central Zagoria the villages of Vitsa (characteristic churches), Monodendri (Vikos Gorge), Tsepelovo (Rangavi Monastery founded in 1050) and Skamneli (houses are decorated with folk paintings of the 18th and 19th century) are the most interesting. In Western Zagoria the villages Mikro and Megalo Papingo are the most beautiful.

Our rates include insurance against liability to 3rd Parties, Personal Accident Insurance (P.A.I.) and Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W. – for damages at the rental car) with an access of 500 Euro. The renter can reduce the access to 100 Euro if he agrees in advance to pay an additional daily fee of 10 Euro. This exists provided that collision or fire damage are not due to the violation of any of the provisions of the Greek Traffic Law. Theft and Fire Protection (T.P. – does not cover any personal belongings) can be obtained against an additional daily fee of 2,5 Euro.
Not covered by any insurance are damages to tyres, wheels, car underside and interior space. Expenses incurred for possible replacement of the damaged vehicle in the event of an accident are born solely by the renter.
Notice: Driving off road is not permitted. The above mentioned insurances are only valid for drivers authorised in the rental contract.
Liability to 3rd Parties
Personal Accident Insurance(P.A.I)
Driver’s/Renter’s age: Minimum 23 years. Maximum 75 years.
Driver‘s licence: International or national held for at least 2 years.
Minimum rental time: 1 day (24 hours). Every hour in excess is calculated at 1/6 of the daily rate.
Payment: The estimated cost of the rental including a deposit is payable at “check out” time, with a minimum of 100 Euro. Waived for credit card holders honoured by Synthesis (VISA, EUROCARD or MASTERCARD).
Baby seats: Available on request free of charge.
Gasoline: Paid by the renter. Unleaded is to be used only. Should the renter return the car with less fuel there is an additional charge of 5 Euro plus the cost for the gasoline.
Traffic fines: Tickets and attached administrative sanctions resulting from any violation of Greek traffic law during rental period are born solely by the renter.
Availability: Car models are according to original planning. Delivery problems may compel us to supply another vehicle of at least the same category of the original booking. In case of major breakdown a replacement vehicle will be supplied without any cost providing the breakdown is not the renter’s responsibility.
Rent-it-here / leave-it-there: Against extra charge all cars available from one way rentals according to RIH/LIT conditions, provided that such arrangements are made at the commencement of the rental and confirmed on the rental agreement.
Across the border rentals: Renters wishing to drive the car out of Greece, must obtain in advance written authorisation from Synthesis.
Ferrying of the car: Advance written authorisation from Synthesis is required by any renter wishing to ferry the car to and from an island.
Road assistance: 24-hour-service
Terms and prices: Can be changed at any time without prior notice. Not applicable for confirmed bookings.
